We are not bodies, but we are having a bodily experience. It will not be helpful to deny your present state. So, settle in. Check yourself. Are there any uncomfortable feelings in the body? Whatever the body feels like right now, just be with it. Feel it and do not try to force any change. Just relax and notice. Now imagine the body, whole and well with absolutely no ill effects whatever. Know that the mind has the power to heal the body. Be open to the possible activity of a power greater than yourself. You are not alone in a body, all of Life is with you right now. Notice any mental anguish, any recurring feelings of guilt or shame. Do not become enamored of these feelings, just pay attention to them and watch as they change. Realize again that anything you may have thought, felt or done that someone else has also thought, felt or done the same. Consider that not only has someone else done it, but that someone else has already gone all the way through it and been healed of it. So, let your prayer be: “hope activates faith which restores me to health and wholeness.
